EASEE-gas launches CBP Gas Role Model Update
The Role Model has been developed to represent actions between different market participants in the gas industry. The main focus lies on the information exchange between market participants. The aim of the document, however, is to provide a common terminology for the roles that are used among most European countries.
The main updates of role definitions and interactions include:
- Alignment with Edig@s 6 processes
- Deprecated role Balancing Energy Price Responsible
- Updated definitions of 8 roles
- Introduced new roles: Energy Service Company, Party Administrator, Producer
“This CBP update is a major result of the harmonisation talks between both the Gas and Electricity sectors. The discussions started in 2021. New roles have been created and definitions adapted. Both sectors have made changes in their documents. The harmonisation talks will continue and more updates are expected in 2023. Additionally there will be a harmonisation report available this year”, stated Chair of the group Oliver Schirok, VNG Handel & Vertrieb GmbH.
